A brief history....
First opening at shiremoor in 2009 the recession had just started to grip. It quickly became apparent the need for supply only in car entertainment was falling. People who were spending, required fitting. Customers were also looking for a one stop shop for all their accessories and not just audio and entertainment. This brought about an extension of our product offering to include car mats, polish, oils and treatments, as well as offering a fitting service for audio products.
Things went slow, people started to reuse their old equipment more instead of buying new and we found ourselves doing more and more fittings, which also started to move into audio repairs (mainly for a large local car supermarket). With the shop being on a shopping parade and not really having anywhere under cover, we were always getting wet, coupled with the fact the landlord wanted it to stay solely a retail parade and we were starting to become the odd one out it was time to look for a more suitable location.
This was when we decided on our current location in Seaton Delaval. Although Seaton Delaval wa already served by a local motor factors, we took the decision to move in and respectfully not advertise our accessories or parts and concentrate on more audio and electrical. The garage attached to the shop came in handy for this and we knew the owner of the local shop was due to retire. Having indicated he desire to hand the building to a family member for another business venture we made the offer to buy their remaining stock so they could get on with their plans, this also opened up our opportunity to advertise our accessories and parts ranges. It didn't quite go down so well with the locals that didn't know the full story however but most are warming to us now and demand for parts is increasing day on day. We have thousands of items available off the shelf and receive upto 4 deliveries a day from our wholesalers to keep the local garages and DIY mechanics full of busy.
